Apple Festival
An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Get your apples at the 17th Annual
“Apple Festival” at the Mississippi Valley Welcome Center. The
festival will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2005 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Apple vendors from the area will hand out samples of fresh apples and cider
along with selling their specialty items. This year they will feature many
different flavors of cider, caramel apples, apple treats, and a hay rack full of
pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn. Many displays, demonstrations and
entertainment will be featured throughout the day including A.J. the
chainsaw artist, carriage rides, face painting and much more. The Leclaire
Lions Club will sell brats and hot dogs and the Lioness will feature an
assortment of fresh baked apple desserts sure to tempt your taste buds.
The LeClaire Shopkeepers will hold their annual fall sidewalk sale the same
weekend. This is a great time to browse the many unique and antique shops
LeClaire has to offer. The fall foliage should be perfect for the “Apple
Festival”. Please join us for a fun filled afternoon and catch the beautiful
view of the scenic Mississippi Valley.
